USA Cares has partnered with Sullivan University and Dale Carnegie to provide educational and training opportunities for service members and their families transitioning from military to civilian employment.
USA Cares is constantly seeking new ways to provide post 9/11 service members, veterans and military families with a larger pool of resources from which they can source assistance during times of crisis. As of December 2015, USA Cares has partnered with Sullivan University and Dale Carnegie to provide educational and training opportunities for service members and their families transitioning from military to civilian employment.
Sullivan University has a long history of providing education and training programs to service members at Fort Knox and throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky; additionally, the Dale Carnegie Training program will provide invaluable skills for service members who are transitioning to the civilian workforce. “We at Sullivan University and Dale Carnegie are honored to partner with USA Cares, Inc. Both USA Cares and Sullivan University/Dale Carnegie recognizes the importance of military service to the nation,” said retired Army Brigadier General James Shane, Director of Military and Veteran Affairs for the Sullivan University System. "Military service members, veterans and their families need to develop a new skill set augmented with certification and credentials that makes them more marketable to employers and prepared for civilian life.”
Located just outside Fort Knox, USA Cares is a national non-profit organization based in Radcliff, Kentucky, that provides financial, housing, advisory and career assistance support to military service members and their families in their time of crisis. USA Cares has provided assistance to over 80,000 families and provided them with millions of dollars in support.
"As USA Cares has evolved, we see education as a prime element to helping our service men and women as they leave the military and seek to enter the workforce," said Hank Patton, Executive Director of USA Cares. "Sullivan University has a tremendous and successful history of working with members of the military and with veterans at its Fort Knox facility. Its mission of educating and preparing graduates for a career and employment in the civilian workforce is a perfect fit with our mission at USA Cares."
Founded in 1912, Dale Carnegie Training complements the many educational and training opportunities offered by the Sullivan University System. Sullivan is the only university in the nation which have two franchises of the Dale Carnegie Training, which is focused on providing business people and students the opportunity to sharpen their skills and improve their performance in order to build positive and steady results.
"We all know that many of our employers have difficulty finding skilled workers they need to fill jobs while seeking a second career," General Shane said. " Employers and communities will recognize a significant benefit from our partnership and the training and educational programs offered through Sullivan University and Dale Carnegie Training.”
