Dennis Miller—Schticks for Troops
Legendary Chicago Theatre site of 2nd annual concert to benefit USA Cares
Comedian and radio talk show host, Dennis Miller will perform in Chicago at the legendary Chicago Theatre on Friday, September 24th on behalf of USA Cares. Radio Station AM 560 WIND is sponsoring the event that will benefit post-9/11 veterans and their families. Click here for tickets.
Miller accepted the role of National Spokesman for USA Cares in February of 2008 and, since that time, has appeared at events in Washington, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Louisville on behalf of USA Cares. He also regularly uses his voice on the air to support USA Cares on “The Dennis Miller Show” which is heard daily on over 250 radio stations across the country.
“Dennis’ second consecutive trip to Chicago couldn’t come at a better time for USA Cares and the military and veterans we serve. Escalating combat action in Afghanistan and the return of tens of thousands of troops to a weak US economy have combined to exert incredible pressure on both government and private sector assistance providers like USA Cares. We need funds right now to continue programs like Warrior Treatment Today which has helped hundreds of Iraq/Afghanistan veterans access mental health programs for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury [PTSD and TBI].” Nelson went on to add “Chicago is a great city packed with patriotic Americans who want to do something for the troops. Dennis’ show offers them an opportunity for a terrific night of entertainment all the while knowing they are supporting the very best of causes: The men and women of our Armed Forces.”—Bill Nelson, USA Cares Executive Director
Dennis Cortes, a Chicago area member of the USA Cares Board of Directors and a Managing Director of Cantor Fitzgerald noted “The money raised from the event will provide financial support to veterans and their families. Dennis Miller is an unwavering supporter of our troops and we appreciate his efforts greatly.”
