1.  How much of my donation or contribution actually goes to assist military families?
USA Cares most recent IRS Form 990 for Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2009 cited our total expenses at $2,026,819.  Of that, $303,123 was spent toward administrative and fundraising costs—the remainder was disbursed among our program services which assist post-9/11 service members and their families.  Based upon this information, the percentage breakdown is 85% program and 15% administrative.

2. What kind of grants do you receive?
We receive two kinds of grants, unrestricted and restricted. Unrestricted grants are used for any USA Cares program, in any location. Restricted grants are given for use with a specific USA Cares program and/or within a specific geographical location. USA Cares receives both types of support and we account for and administer all types of funds.

3.  Are you audited by an independent agency?
Yes, our audits are currently conducted by Anderson, Bryant, Lasky & Winslow .
