Operation Yellow Ribbon

Largest Kentucky deployment since WWII recognized with a keepsake for those at home and support for those who serve

This summer, the 149th Maneuver Enhanced Brigade will deploy over 1,350 Kentucky National Guard members to support Operation New Dawn in Iraq. The Guard unit, “Task Force Legion”, will conduct security missions, base defense and convoy operations during their 12-month deployment.

As the Guard unit departs, hundreds of spouses and loved ones are left to hope and wait for their soldier to return home. Operation Yellow Ribbon recognizes this sacrifice and is giving Brighton yellow ribbon charms to the deploying soldiers who in turn can gift the charm to their spouse, family member, or significant other—a small but significant symbol of their mutual love, sacrifice and hope of reunion.

Humana Military Healthcare Services is proud to sponsor the Operation Yellow Ribbon campaign

The silver lining of the yellow charm is that from every $25 charm purchase, $20 is directly donated to USA Cares. Over the past three years, Brighton has supported USA Cares with over $250,000 from the sale of their “peace” bracelets. We are honored that they have, once again, designated us as a charity of choice and thank them for supporting our troops.
