USA Cares now offers a course designed to provide loan officers, Realtors and housing professionals with a clear understanding of how to work with military borrowers—whether they’re using a VA loan or some other type of financing. The USA Cares Certified Military Housing Specialist course provides the military borrower community certification, giving them the tools and knowledge they need to deliver the skilled service our military borrowers expect and deserve.
Available online for a $25 fee, this three-hour course explains military language, rank and pay system. It outlines what happens when a service member is injured, and explains how their pay will continue during hospitalization and treatment. Upon successful completion of the course, participants are certified and awarded their certificate of completion. This mark of excellence is becoming a sought-after sign to military borrowers—the promise they will receive the expert service and care they deserve.
USA Cares maintains a current listing of certified participating lenders, real estate and housing professional; where military consumers can find loan officers and housing professionals who understand their unique needs and subscribe to the recommended Standards of Practice as they work together to make affordable and sustainable housing decisions.
Program designed to help military borrowers level the playing field
“The course helps all audiences know what expect along the way to an accurate and timely closing”, says Peter Giusti, President of USA Cares. “Housing counselors, title companies, appraisers—anyone who would like to be part of their local team—providing quality service to military members—are welcome to take the course. Housing professionals with the knowledge and skills to assist this special military niche can help to build communities across the nation, with mortgages that are affordable and sustainable—keeping neighborhoods lively and home values stable.”
Service members and their spouses are encouraged to take the course as well. This is especially helpful to new military members striving to grow their knowledge of their own financial position.
