USA Cares really does help, I was deployed to Iraq and just as I got home and started to get things organized my family, all 22 members fell victim to Hurricane Ike. All of my family fled to my home for safety and remained due to the unliveable conditions in Houston. Money became tight with only my E5 paycheck to feed us all. USA Cares quickly stepped in to help us and we could not be more greatful. Thank you for being there for soldiers and their families. Thank you for caring! |

We are a dual military family with very special circumstances; we have a child with a condition called Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome that has to be taken to the hospital to be monitored for upcoming surgery every other day. Between my husband being recalled by the Air National Guard for duty which led to a substantial loss of pay, and the cost of fuel. Soon we were late on our mortgage payment, and USA Cares helped us, gave us a caring hand at the time we were at a breaking point. My VA Caseworker Kathy Zima gave us this website to go to and help take care of the bills that we could not afford. There were many times that I could not get back with Paul or Bobbi, but they still got it going for us. They were quick, provided excellent assistance and went above and beyond the call of duty. We will now successfully be able to have our life back on track which came off of track while I was in Iraq. My wife and I would love to get them a well deserved award for all they have done for us. My family was in desperate need to get our car out of repossesion status and thanks to the hard work of Bobbi and Paul we dont have to worry about loosing our car anymore. My husband and my 25 year old daughter are both active duty military. My daughter will deploy for Iraq in May. While I do not support the reason for our presence in Iraq, I do support our troops 110 percent and will continue to support them as long as they have to be there. They have no say so in this matter. God Bless them and praying that the situation in Iraq will allow our soldiers to return home very soon. |
