Welcome to the Texas Chapter USA Cares’ web page
Welcome…and thank you for your interest in the Texas Chapter!
Since 2003, USA Cares has assisted Texans with over $1.5 million in grants. That’s over 8,200 families that have received assistance, preventing them from homelessness, loss of utilities, hunger, unemployment and more.
The Texas Chapter is headquartered in Houston where we have a team of volunteers raising funds and awareness within the community. We are dedicated to the USA Cares mission and strive to increase the amount of support offered to the Lone Star state.
Texas has a rich and enduring military history. It is home to the second largest population of active duty military and also has the second highest veteran population (1.67 million Veterans, roughly 8% of the entire state population). Texas is home to 14 active military installations such as: Dyess AFB, Fort Bliss, Fort Hood, Fort Sam Houston, Laughlin AFB, and Sheppard AFB (just to name a few). The main goal of our chapter is to support these communities from the local level…taking care of our neighbors who have served and protected us.
Meet Larry Hopkins Jr:
Larry is the Texas Field Officer and works out of our Dallas/Ft. Worth office. He is developing branches throughout the state to strengthen our efforts to support military families in need. Currently, the Texas Chapter is recruiting volunteers at all levels in both Dallas and Houston. We are also recruiting leadership for the upcoming San Antonio Branch.
